Mission to Read

Wife, technophile, bibliophile, and student who obsesses over the latest gadget and political drama. I read compulsively. It's an addiction really. I also blog.

The Iron King (Harlequin Teen)

The Iron King - Julie Kagawa This is a take on the fey that was much more like Chronicles of Narnia than Wicked Lovely. It takes you on a journey through three of the lands of fey. Meeting characters that quickly became friends and others that took a hard time to like.Meghan’s family is impossible to like at first. They do not pay attention to her in the least and spoil the younger child. When he is replaced with an evil little fey-thing Meghan goes to save him.Robin Goodfellow, Puck, is a good friend and is willing to sacrifice himself for his King’s daughter. But it’s not the loyalty to the King, but the loyalty to Meghan that has him at her side.Okay, I’ll admit it, I’m team Ash. Even though they are supposed to be mortal enemies he is there for her and he has undergone such pain previously that he doesn’t seem like a teenage boy. One of the reasons for this may be the fact that he is immortal. My favorite character is none of the main characters but Grimalkin, the cat. I imagine him to be a much friendlier version of the cat in Alice in Wonderland.Brilliance and I’m entirely too happy to read the next in the series when I need to be reading ARC’s.
