Darkfever (Fever Series, Book 1)

Darkfever (Fever #1) - Karen Marie Moning I wanted to be in love with this book, but I just wasn’t. I liked it and I’ll probably read the rest of the series, but I wasn’t in love with this book. The characters were great, but the plot was boring it wasn’t until the end action really began.I liked Mac, even through all of her naiveté. She was bright, courageous, and loved her sister. She was relatable and I really liked her.Barrons is a jerk and only tells Mac what he thinks she needs to know, but at the end of the day he’s there for her no matter what. He simply thinks his word should be obeyed with cause and Mac is too strong to allow this. I could easily fall head over heels for him if he’d start letting her be a partner and I think he shall now that he knows what she can do.Now to the boring plot, it was repetitive in the stealing of the artifacts. She didn’t engage with any of the fae except for the sex one. It was like a backstory to her becoming a sidhe-seer until the ending of the book.I truly believe now that we have the backstory done the rest of the series will be enjoyable and not boring, but sadly this one wasn’t.
